How to use it
First burn
Let the candle burn for at least 2 hours. The wax must melt to the edges to prevent tunneling.
Wooden wick
Trim the wick to 3–4 mm before each burn. Use your fingers or a snuffer — never blow it out.
Extinguishing
Use a snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax. Avoid drafts near the flame.
Storage
Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Cover with the lid between burns.
Frequently asked questions
70 hours is an estimate based on optimal conditions: draft-free environment, wick trimmed to 3–4 mm, burns of at least 2 hours. In draughty rooms or with shorter sessions it may be less. Sunflower wax burns slower than soy — a real advantage we verified in our workshop.
A cherry wood wick produces a gentle crackle as it burns — a warm, quiet sound like a small fireplace. It burns more evenly than cotton and doesn't need carbon residue removed before each light. It's also fully natural and biodegradable.
Soy is often imported and grown in intensive monoculture. Our sunflower wax comes from European farms, is biodegradable, and has an ideal melting point for slow, lasting fragrance diffusion. A choice that aligns with our zero-waste values.
It's designed to be gifted. The recycled linen pouch protects the glass in transit and doubles as gift packaging. Pair it with your Sternartica soaps for a complete coffret. It travels well — the linen absorbs shocks and keeps the fragrance intact.
Once the candle is done, place the glass in the freezer for 30 minutes — remaining wax will pop out cleanly. Wash with hot soapy water. It's perfect as a small vase, pencil holder or spice jar. The linen pouch becomes a sachet, a mini-bag or a pocket organiser.
